Multi Peaked Roofs

The sloped roofs on this modern home were designed to take advantage of the path of the sun to maximize brightness and to make the interior of the home feel bigger and brighter.

Reader swartz architects designed the renovation of this 1970 s farmhouse. The sloped roof on this modern house. Near the top is a very steep pitch and near the upper walls of the home are a lower pitch though still fairly steep. Shingles made of wood stone tile or metal work fine.

The result of joining two or more gabled roof sections together forming a t or l shape for the simplest forms or any number of more complex shapes. When the hip is equal on all four sides it is sometimes called a pavilion roof or a pyramid roof. Gable ridged dual pitched peaked saddle pack saddle saddleback span roof. Because most gabled roofs consist of flat sections you can cover them with virtually any roofing material.

It may consist of a flat roof on top but the main design element is the multi pitch sloped in what is essentially a hip roof on top of another hip frame.
